Air Cairo launches flights between Sharm el Sheikh, Copenhagen

Air Cairo has launched regular flights between Egypt’s Red Sea resort of Sharm el Sheikh and Danish capital Copenhagen, the Egyptian Ministry of Civil Aviation said Monday.

Sharm el Sheikh airport is scheduled to receive the first flight from Copenhagen with 153 tourists onboard, the official MENA news agency quoted the ministry’s statement as saying.

Air Cairo, the low fare subsidiary of EgyptAir, plans to increase its fleet of aircraft to 10 planes by the end of 2017, the report said.

Currently, Air Cairo operates flights between Egypt and 16 cities in 10 European countries, in addition to eight cities in five Arab states.

Air Cairo launched its first flight between Armenia and Egypt’s Red Sea resorts of Hurghada and Sharm el Sheikh last week.

Looks like we will have to fly from England to Copenhagen and then to Sharm el Sheikh in future instead of England to Cairo and being forced to buy a visa we don’t need before being allowed onto our flight from Cairo to sharm. So much for the Egyptian authorities appreciating our continued support for Sharm ! Hope this spurs those in control to lift the flight ban- it is long overdue !
