Egyptian actress Rania Youssef chosen as a jury member at Sharm El-Sheikh Film Festival

Actress Rania Youssef has been chosen to be a member of the jury for competitive feature films at Sharm El-Sheikh Film Festival, scheduled to take place between 3 and 9 March.

The jury committee is led by renowned Swedish critic Eva Girstam.

The festival is presided over by prominent journalist Gamal Zayda, and the honorary president is actress Layla Elwi.

Youssef expressed her pleasure at being chosen to participate in one of the most important film festivals in Egypt and working with Egyptian, Arab and international cinema figures.

The Egyptian star studied English literature before starting her career as an ad girl. She got her first role in the television series The Punishment.

In 1997, she was the runner up in the Miss Egypt beauty contest.

She acted in the TV show Hag Metwally’s Family, which later led to various roles in many important movies including Cabaret, Alzheimer’s, Aunt’s Scream and Regatta.
