Day1 – You will be picked up from your hotel and transfer to the entrance of the desert, where we will take 4×4 localJeeps to reach our designated Zen Tented Camp, the heart for your retreat. The camp is designed to allow a natural flow of desert energy with a stunning vista for yoga & meditation practice. As a fully facilitated camp with bio toilets, fresh water showers, separate kitchen, sleeping quarters with privacy, you will feel as you are glamping, not roughing it in the traditional desert camp way. Once we reach Zen Camp, you will be welcomed by herbal Bedouin tea and orientated to camp and meet your yoga teacher for the next 3 days. A group session will start the retreat, where your yoga teacher will go through the journey you are about to start and listen to each person for practice level, styles and what they want to gain from such a retreat. All meals are served at camp with a menu tailored to suit each individual and dietary requirements, with an emphasis on healthy eating. The first yoga session will start around 4pm and commence with shavasana at sunset. Dinner is served around the camp fire and you can continue to enjoy the yoga safari program before heading to bed, falling asleep under the stars.
Day 2 – The ultimate desert experience is waking with the sun, so an early start to the day. Herbal tea and coffee is served before your yoga session and brunch is ready when finished. The yoga style and program will differ with each departure depending on your teachers practice, although all our yoga teachers are specialize in a combination of styles and technique. After brunch you have the chance to do a 3hr trek into the surrounding canyons, plateaus, dunes and valleys, to absorb the tranquillity and digest your own feelings and listen to your inner voice. Once back at Zen camp, your yoga teacher will hold a group session before starting your sunset yoga session or meditation. Dinner is served around the camp fire and you enjoy another evening of talks and relaxation before heading to bed, falling asleep under the stars.
Day 3 – Meditation at sunrise is a perfect start to the day. After some refreshments, you will take a short walk into an open plateau and do some meditation and either return to Zen camp for yoga practice or continue on location. Once your session are complete, brunch is ready at camp where you will have time to recapture all mind, body & soul exploration that you have gone through. Your teacher will decide upon a further yoga session or meditation to complete your retreat, bringing together a finale to the experience. A short trek of app 1.5hrs will take us to the pick up point where you will be transferred back to your hotel.
