Success at the International tennis federation tournament
Congratulations to rising Egyptian tennis player Sandra Samir, 17, who won the singles title at the ITF Women’s Future tournament held in Sharm last month.
The event took place at the Maratim Jolie Ville Golf & Resort Hotel and featured a total prize win of $10,000.
The tennis star battled scorching temperatures during the competition “The semi and final matches were not easy at all.
My match against Claffey took a long time.
Plus the weather was too hot. We started to play our matches around 5pm,” but despite the heat, went on to beat Ireland’s Jenny Claffey in the semi-finals and on to a victorious 6-1 win against France’s Victoria Muntean, a sporting achievement for the young Egyptian star.
