Chrsitmas Lights in Sharm
December in Sharm is a time when the weather really cools off, gone are the scorching temperatures of summer as winter welcomes cooling winds and spectacular sunsets.
Dusk comes around in a flash and festive lights start to go up and turn on around town. Christmas trees proudly stand tall from behind polished glass reception windows, in preparation for the festive season.
Each hotel exudes its own impressive shimmer and sparkle, from crafted lights with special messages to authentic festive displays. All stops are pulled out, the magic that the staff and their teams create here in Sharm is something that has to be seen, especially for those who enjoy the spirit of Christmas.
As you take a stroll past the big hotels, you are captured by all sorts of Christmas eye candy.
Trees are transformed into beaming pillars, strings of bright lights snake their way from the ground up. Santa and his full set of reindeers have found their way onto a hotel forecourt and are positioned over a trickling rainbow fountain.
Guests in t-shirts amble past, enjoying the nice combination of festivity and warm weather.
Sharm is all set for Christmas. Soho Square brought Christmas early to Sharm last month with its eventful ‘Big Switch On’. A spectacular night with fireworks, a brass band parade and snow machines, added a magical start to the season and it keeps getting better!
Every night Soho square is dressed up to the nines, a festive wonderland that could outtwinkle the closest galaxy. Icy blue tinged fairy lights hang in all shapes and sizes overhead, Movenpick ice cream and the newly opened Fruit City are great places to visit to keep you refreshed whilst shopping and exploring.
A picturesque illuminated bridge offers a place from which you can enjoy another Santa and reindeer display or just behind this, Soho Square have created a magical grass enclosed space decorated with two sparkling Christmas trees and a thrown where you can sit and get some great Christmas photos!
The ice skating rink is also a festive place to enjoy the atmosphere; here they offer a good range of activities such as sessions for the public, a figure skating school and private lessons.
This month also hosts the ‘kids Christmas Ice Rink Show’, which is choreographed by the world famous skater, Nina Ulanova offering families a memorable evening. There is also a café onsite where you can warm up with a hot drink after enjoying the show.
If you are still in search of a place to refresh and relax after exploring the festive activities, then a visit to their onsite Ice Bar is a must. This frosty winter wonderland is just the place to stop by for a bracing Christmas drink.
The walls and tables are made from slabs of ice and so are the glasses! You can choose a drink from the full bar menu or try some vodka shooters, entry to the bar includes your choice of vodka shooter, a great reason to stop by and welcome in the season!
