The Days of Minsk Oblast are to be held in Sharm El Sheikh in 2019, Ambassador of Belarus to Egypt Sergei Rachkov has said in an interview to the Middle East News Agency (MENA), BelTA has learned. “With a view to increasing mutual tourist flows we have plans to arrange the Days of Minsk Oblast in Sharm El Sheikh in 2019.
Minsk Oblast has twinning relations with South Sinai Governorate. We are also set to hold Belarus’ Sports Week in Egypt and invite an Egyptian delegation led by the minister of tourism to visit the Vacations 2019 forum and expo in Belarus,” Sergei Rachkov said. In his words, 123,000 Belarusians visited Egypt in 2017, more than any time before.
“However, I believe that the real figure is even higher, as some Belarusian nationals fly to Egyptian resorts via airlines of other countries that enjoy additional preferences of the Egyptian side,” the diplomat said.
Thus, Egypt was the second most popular tourist destination for Belarusians, though several years ago it ranked only fifth. “We expect that the record of 2017 will be broken in 2018,” Sergei Rachkov said.Tags:minsk, oblast, sharm, sheikh
