Adopt a pot scheme
Red Sea Diving College Team re-established their ‘Adopt a pot’ scheme when a young British diver donated an amphora to the house reef. The project was started to encourage customers to donate a terracotta pot to the artificial reef being built on the house reef. The project also encourages environmental marine awareness and is important to prevent erosion of fragile eco-systems. April Collins saved up her pocket money to buy a large amphora with a special plaque to commemorate her ‘Giving Back’ donation. In honour of the event and her gift, her Instructor Aleksandra Ivanovic helped her along with surface support to place the large amphora on the seabed, which was documented by a photo story ‘potty about pots’ on the redseacollege pinterest account.
