Air Cairo touches down at Milan Bergamo Airport – Airline Routes & Ground Services

Milan Bergamo Airport has welcomed Air Cairo, a subsidiary of flag carrier Egypt Air, as a new airline partner connecting Sharm El Sheikh with Northern Italy with a two-weekly service.

The inaugural flight took off on Saturday 5 April, marking the continued growth of the airport’s international network.

The new route will be operated by Air Cairo’s modern Embraer E190 aircraft on Thursdays and Saturdays, offering passengers direct access to the popular Egyptian resort city, known for its year-round sunshine, Red Sea diving spots and luxurious beach resorts.

Giacomo Cattaneo, director of commercial aviation at airport operator SACBO, said: “We are thrilled to see Air Cairo join our growing family of airline partners.

“Sharm El Sheikh is a destination that continues to attract strong interest from the Italian market, and this twice weekly connection will provide an excellent new travel option for our passengers.

“We look forward to working closely with Air Cairo to ensure the success of this route.”

Milan Bergamo continues to position itself as a gateway to Egypt. During the summer of 2025, the airport offers five destinations in the country.

In addition to Sharm El Sheikh, travellers can opt for a nonstop service to Alexandria, Cairo, Marsa Alam and Marsa Matruh; altogether, those routes are operated by a record of six airlines.
