Cabinet plans to attract tourists through live online broadcasts

The Ministry of Tourism, in tandem with the Ministry of Communications, announced “Egypt Now,” a new venture aimed at attracting tourism to the country.
Nile Online, an Egyptian internet and digital infrastructure company, will provide a direct broadcasting service to tourist areas and archaeological sites in Egypt.
Live cameras will be placed at sites to transfer the image directly to a global audience composed of tourists who wish to visit Egypt but refrain due to concerns about political unrest and security.
Sherief Amin, head of fixed internet at the company, said they will dispel any sense of fear about safety resulting from the current atypical situation in Egypt.
The new project would hopefully increase the number of tourists, who would in turn contribute to raising the gross national product and providing hard currency for the government, in addition to providing many job opportunities for young Egyptians, he added.
